Covid-19 : A time to focus on our health and wellbeing

Many years ago I watched the film Contagion, filmed and released at a time when the world had seen Swine Flu and SARs but nothing on the scale of the pandemic we are faced with now: Covid-19. It was, it would seem, inevitable that sooner or later we would be faced with a pandemic on this scale and if I am honest I doubt that it will be the last. China will continue with its unsanitary wet markets and the human beings will continue to destroy our rainforests at an alarming rate leading to viruses being unleashed against with the population has no immunity.

Now I am not going to claim that my herbal tea will give you special immunity from Covid-19. far from it. It takes time for the body to build up antibodies and until a vaccine is available, our immune systems will need to adapt unaided to COVID-19.

However, a healthy lifestyle can not only help to fight off infection, but also to develop those antibodies which are vital in the fight against disease including secondary infections that may occur as a result of the Covid-19 virus. The immune system is the body’s multi-level defence network against potentially harmful bacteria, viruses and other organisms.

But this is more than about Coronovirus. Perhaps this pandemic has given the world a chance to think seriously about its long term health, not only for us human beings but also for the planet as a whole. As the earth breathes, pollution drops and animals roam freely around our towns and cities (sheep in Wales and Deer in Romford to name but a few) , we need to consider that way that we consume resources and the detrimental effect that this has on our planet as a whole.

Organic and herbal medicine has been around for centuries and healthy eating and a sustainable lifestyle are certainly going to be key in ensuring the survival of the human race and our planet in the long term. I would therefore encourage you to consider eating organic food and using herbal products to boost your immune system, strengthen your organs and maintain your energy and vitality as well care for the precious resource that is planet Earth.

Caring for our overall health has never been more important.  Eating for immunity should equate to eating for your longevity and quality of lifestyle, not just a short term fix during the panic of a global pandemic. Your immune system and overall condition of your body ages, weakening as you get older.  Fortunately, we are discovering plenty of things you can do to turn back the immunological age clock and stay healthy throughout your lifespan.

Yes, I have had Cornovirus symptoms including a sore throat, cough, fever, loss of taste and smell and lethargy, but it didn't last long and fortunately was reasonably mild. My body works hard to fight against colds, flu and viruses and I definitely credit my daily dose of herbal tea for this.

So, if you are considered vulnerable like me because of age and a history of cancer, then give yourself every chance not just now, but long into the future for an abundance of energy, life and vitality.

Events in my own life led me to search alternative medicine to relieve my health problems as traditional medication just wasn’t cutting it. I started looking into homeopathy following a cataract operation in March 2009. Around this time I started getting hiccups on a regular basis.
