We all know that a poor diet can lead to an early death, bur take this as a stark warning. A man in US state of Massachusetts has died after consuming around one and a half bags of the sweet on a daily basis. he had suffered no symptoms of ill health prior to his death and as a construction worker would, we presume, have been reasonably fit.

He had recently switched from red to black liquorice which may have added to the problem. In short, large amounts of candy are not meant to be consumed as the human body is not well equipped to process large amounts of refined sugar.
